This strategy is almost twice as fast, as the “walking” strategy!
To use this strategy you need to get to construction level 33, so you can build stone
fireplaces. The limestone comes from a mine northeast of Varrock, through the gate,
toward the start of the “Priest in Peril” quest. You need a house with a parlour. A
workshop is also helpful. It is only free after this point.
Let’s say you want to make 1,000 limestone bricks to make 500 stone fireplaces (20,000 XP).
The Walking Strategy (most people use this):
Wear: Pick
Inventory: nothing
1) Walk to the mine from Varrock, mine the stone, and walk back to the bank. You get 28 stones per load for a total of 36 loads at 4 minutes per load. Total: 144 minutes
Inventory: chisel
2) Stand at the bank and use a chisel on each piece of limestone. At 1/2 minute per
load of 27, this takes about 13 minutes for your 1,000 stones.
Wear: nothing
Inventory: saw and hammer
3) Walk from Falador bank to your house, remove and build each fireplace, and walk back. You bring 26 stones per load for a total of 39 loads at 4 minutes per load. Total: 154 minutes
TOTAL FOR THIS STRATEGY: 311 minutes
A Faster Way — the Teleport Strategy
You need level 25 magic to teleport to Varrock, and level 40 magic to teleport to your
house. Using either one will save you time.
Wear: air staff
Bring: pick, 40 law runes, 40 fire runes
1) Walk to the mine from Varrock and teleport back. Go to the bank and repeat. You
mine 25 stone per load for a total of 40 loads at 2.5 minutes per load. Total: 100
minutes
Inventory: chisel
2) Stand at the bank and use a chisel on each piece of limestone. At 1/2 minute per load of 27, this takes about 13 minutes for your 1,000 stones.
Wear: air staff
Inventory: hammer, saw, 44 law runes, 44 earth runes.
3) Teleport from the Falador east bank to your house, build your fireplaces and walk back. You bring 23 bricks per load for a total of 44 loads at 2.5 minutes per trip. Total: 110 minutes
TOTAL FOR THIS STRATEGY: 223 minutes.
The Fastest Way — Combination Strategy:
Wear: air staff
Inventory: pick, saw, hammer, chisel, 92 law runes, 46 earth runes, 46 fire runes.
1) *Run* from Varrock to the mine (you will have time for your energy to be recharged using this strategy). Mine limestone and cut into bricks.
2) (optional) For the very fastest way add this step: a) drop you saw. b) Mine one
more stone. c) use your chisel on it. d) drop the chisel and pick up the saw. You can
get a new chisel from your house if you have a workshop with a level 2 tool cabinet
installed.
3) Teleport directly to your house. Build the fireplaces. Teleport back to Varrock.
TOTAL FOR THIS STRATEGY: This entire process takes 3.5 minutes. Carrying loads of 22 (if you include step 2), you need 46 trips for a total of 161 minutes.
